Kalamazoo Calendar Project Traveling Exhibition

Jaakan Page-Wood, 2024. Photo (detail) by Mary Whalen.

For more than twenty years, a group of Kalamazoo artists has created an annual suite of twelve original hand-pulled silkscreen prints, which masquerades as a monthly calendar. While the individuals involved tend to change slightly from year to year, the hope and belief of the group is that, even with widely varying backgrounds and experiences, the fact that they all call Kalamazoo home communicates and represents something essential about life in this particular place. Other than that bit of faith, the common denominator of the prints is that they are all on the same size sheet of paper.

Students will explore twelve works by eight local artists, including Peter Brakeman, Ryan Brown, Steward Fritz, Chafe Hensely, Donna Lahr, Jaakan Page-Wood, Meg Tang, and Jake Van Order.

EFA Presents! Information

The Kalamazoo Calendar Project traveling exhibition is available free-of-charge to K-8 schools and will not count towards a school’s EFA Presents! free ticket allotment. High schools may book the exhibition for a flat fee of $100.

School Tour Details

The traveling exhibition is scheduled in two-week blocks running September 8-June 1. EFA will deliver and install the artwork in schools on 6’x3′ freestanding display panels.
